SB MEMBER CHARGED WITH VIOLATION OF COMELEC RES NR. 9208 (Gun Ban and other deadly Weapon)

Bangued, Abra. The Abra PNP got its first accomplishment in the conduct of PNP/COMELEC Checkpoint in connection with the implementation of COMELEC GUN BAN in preparation to the synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election this coming October 2010.

A Sangguniang Bayan Member of Lacub, Abra SBM Benjamin Semangen REYES is charged with violation of COMELEC Resolution NR. 9208 (Gun Ban and other deadly Weapon) after he was caught possessing a six (6) inches long Kitchen Knife in a PNP/COMELEC Checkpoint in Bangued, Abra.

That at about 1:30 AM of September 25, 2010, during the conduct of PNP/COMELEC checkpoint by the PNP personnel of Bangued PNP along Mc Kinley Street, Zone 7, Bangued, Abra led by Police Chief Inspector JULIO SAPIDA LIZARDO, Officer In-Charge, they flagged down two male persons riding in tandem into a HONDA XRM, color blue bearing plate number IQ2342 and driven by Jobert  Bagni FERRAREN, 20 years old, student, native of barangay Poblacion Poblacion Lacub and his backrider identified as Benjamin Semangen Reyes, 37 years old, married and Sangguniang Bayan member of Lacub, Abra.

During the inspection, PO2 Jeffrey Paz Reyes able to recovered from the direct possession, custody and control of SB Benjamin Reyes one (1) Kitchen Knife approximately six (6) inches long.

Suspect and recovered evidence was brought to Bangued Municipal Police Station for documentation. An appropriate charge is being readied. (PRO-COR)
